From the tiniest elements of the décor to the greater logistical aspects, Blue Gardenia Events strives to make the planning process and the actual event an enjoyable and stress-free time…a meaningful celebration filled with little moments, thoughtful touches designed to leave a long-lasting impression on your guests and create memories that will last a lifetime.

As a boutique business, we only take a select number of weddings and events per year so that we can genuinely provide the time and attention that each event requires.

The Owner

Belinda is the founder of Blue Gardenia Events. She grew up in L.A. (Lower Arkansas) and during her childhood, her parents often brought her to New Orleans to take in the sights, sounds, and culture. Belinda is a graduate of Rhodes College and the John Marshall Law School. Prior to becoming an attorney, she was an event planner in Chicago, where she planned weddings and events large and small, grand to intimate, for over five years.

Belinda has always had an artistic flair for design, planning, and production, as well as supreme organizational skills. From commandeering and decorating her brother’s tree house, to restructuring her high school’s student council, to acting as second chair on four jury trials, Belinda has always had an eclectic skill set. She is a detailed, hard-working, passionate soul who brings a unique dual-track professional background to her clientele.

After falling in love with her husband, Mark, Belinda found herself once again back in her beloved New Orleans. Belinda opened Blue Gardenia Events to bring her passion for event planning, her unique skill set, and her love of the sights, sounds, and culture of New Orleans to clients planning events in the greater New Orleans area.

Belinda sees event planning as a production, the telling of a great story, your story, and it starts with an engagement. Discovering and bringing together elements that are uniquely you as a couple are the themes that should be woven into every facet of the event.  From your save-the-dates, stationery suite, welcome gifts, rehearsal dinner, flowers, favors, music, and twinkly candlelight - to your spectacular send-off (and everything in between), these elements create an event that is uniquely you because it echoes the context of your lives, your guests, your family, and your love story – what story could be better?
